Daytrip to Temple of Poseidon

This Saturday I took the bus with two of my friends from France, Manon and Fanny, to the temple of Poseidon. The bus departures from the busstaion Mavromateon and after about 2h you'll arrive at Cape Sounion and the temple. The ticket is €12,50 both ways and it's also the bus that will take you to places like Vouliagmeni and lots of beautiful beaches and places along the costline.

The temple was beautiful and on the site you also have a small restaurant, but be prepared that you won't have a much else to do there. We had brought lunch and managed to find a nice place on a cliff, protected from the wind, and sat down for some hours in the sun and just enjoyed the weather until the sun started to set. The sunset was (as always here in Greece) beautiful and just in time before we had to take the bus back to Athens. 

During the ride on the bus I realized how much I've missed the ocean, and that I need to take advantage of this more during the time that I have left here in Greece. There are so many incredible beautiful beaches and places just outside Athens full of palm trees and it's so easy to forget about it during winter... This has to change!
